If yours is just such an insufferable jealous man, let's figure out why he's jealous, what to do to stop it, and what not to do.
Why is he jealous?
There could be a million reasons, and I don't know your boyfriend personally, but I can name a few major "annoying factors" that make him jealous.
Low self-esteem. This is the most common cause of jealousy. Maybe your boyfriend is jealous of you for the simple reason that he's not sure he's attractive and he's afraid you'll leave him for someone else.
Owner's syndrome. Sounds so-so, but in reality, it's a nightmare – possessive syndrome is very difficult to cure or overcome. These guys believe that if a girl has agreed to date him, then she totally belongs to him alone, and he has the right to dispose of it at his discretion. Dating a boy like that is putting your life in real danger. It's not the least bit cute or movie-like.
A tendency to cheat. Maybe he's not jealous because you gave him a reason, but because he cheated once himself, and now potential infidelity is all over him. It's spinning in his head that if he did that, you might not be able to hold on either, so he's tyrannizing you.
Rich imagination. It is quite possible that he is just paranoid, jealous of his girlfriend to everyone and he sees cheating. Tell him to watch less soap operas. Let him return to the real world and stop torturing you with his imaginary plots.
What to do?
Usually when one person is an incorrigible jealous boyfriend and the other is a perfectly normal person, it's hard for them to get along. On the one hand, you love him, on the other – you would have already left him 10 times. What to do and how to end this torment? Read below.
Talk about your feelings more often. If you talk a lot, all your problems will go away. He'll know you love him, and you'll finally understand why he's acting this way. Talking is a very powerful thing.
Control your emotions. The calmer you react to jealousy attacks, the less your boyfriend wants to be jealous, because he does not get any feedback. It's like with bullies: the less you react to provocation, the more likely it is that they'll soon get fed up.
♪ You can't fight fire with fire ♪. If your boyfriend keeps throwing tantrums, try videotaping him and showing him how ridiculous he looks at the moment, and if that doesn't help, give him a fun week. Also be jealous of everything that moves, and what doesn't move, move and be jealous. Yell as loud as you can, wring your hands, and look for reasons to be jealous at every little thing. After a few demonstrative performances, he will howl and stop terrorizing you for no reason.
What not to do?
When someone makes us jealous, we often misbehave, make classic mistakes, and make the situation worse. The worst – to make excuses and beg him not to be angry. That's the last thing. A jealous man will feel his power and become completely impossible. The more you prove that it's not your fault, the less your boyfriend will believe. Act as calmly as you can, and you'll be fine.
