We've all been in this situation: one girlfriend discusses a great walk with the guy, the second describes the wild details of intimate life, the third is already planning a wedding … But what about you?? You haven't even kissed, held hands yet and you're as far away from a relationship as the moon.

We're gonna prove to you that not having a boyfriend in high school is cool, not a shame 💔

1. You can focus on your education

No matter how much bloggers and celebrities say you don't need an education, trust me, you don't need one. And we are not even talking about the "crusts" and the certificate, but about experience and knowledge. Now you have the time and energy to devote to education: find a cool college, prepare for exams, get an internship at a major company. At least start learning a new language, playing the guitar or beading, which is better than sighing over someone you don't understand.

2. You're getting to know yourself as a person

Dating is often fun, simple, and easy. And then there are nervous, awkward, and just plain awful. An unpleasant experience makes me wonder if the problem is me? An accidentally thrown word can change your perception of yourself, and not always for the worse.

While you're young, don't let anyone speak for you, decide for you and form your opinion about you. Find out what's important to you, how you think, and who you think you are. You yourself are your main person, best friend and mainstay.

3. You're wasting energy on a friendship

Relationships from high school rarely stand the test of time. But school friendships are the strongest: they last for years and, even if they end, leave a lot of nice memories. So get faithful girlfriends, not boyfriends.)

4. You'll avoid scandals and gossip

It's important to note that it's not your fault if people gossip about you – it's the one who started the gossip. However, if you take other people's sarcastic comments to heart, you'll have a hard time getting over the fact that your relationship will be discussed by everyone. And even when you break up. And a couple more years later. That's not the main reason not to have a relationship, but rather to wonder whether you need the guy for yourself or for social approval?

5. You'll wait for the one who's worthy of you, not the one who got caught first

There's been times when you've looked at your past crushes and thought: what was going on with me anyway, since I fell in love with this? We get it. Sometimes the inner warmth and desire to give care finds not the right person, but the one who is closer. And so it makes sense to take a couple of years to look at guys, think about what you need first, and then build a relationship.

😉 Of course, every case is unique – if you already have a boyfriend you love, we only wish you well. But don't worry if you haven't met the right one yet: you're beautiful without any other halves 💖
